Kissing while smoking

Maxim Lahousse (1996) is a Belgian painter and designer whose practice moves fluidly between contemporary art and design. Driven by curiosity and a continuous desire to develop his practice, he approaches each painting and object as an opportunity to explore new ideas and forms of expression. His visual language is shaped by a wide range of influences, including sports, fashion, architecture and travel. The latter plays a particularly important role, with objects, scenes and situations encountered along the way often finding their way into his work. He often portrays everyday and mundane situations. Even in his objects, he transforms familiar scenes and objects into compositions that feel both personal and light-hearted.
